Listen to Our Music

Our debut album 'Twa Double Doubles' has been featured in the Quietus as well as receiving radio play. Along side a sell out album launch at King's Place, as part of London Jazz Fest, we have also performed at jazz festivals like Love Supreme and Scottish traditional music festivals like Edinburgh Trad Fest and Celtic Connections. These endorsements underscores the album’s innovative approach and its potential to bridge the gap between traditional Shetland music and modern jazz and folk audiences.

In a daring blend of old and new Shetland Islands native Norman Willmore and Glaswegian Corrie Dick are re-imagining traditional Shetland music with their latest project Twa Double Doubles. This independent release dives  into the rich musical heritage of the Shetland Islands, resurrecting some archival tunes that have never seen the light of day.

The album unearths several never-before-released tunes as well as other traditional Shetland deep-cuts, including a ceremonial wedding piece featuring quarter tones, a melody composed by Shetland’s mythical Trow, and a timeless lullaby passed down through generations. The title track, “Twa Double Doubles and a Len O' Eunson’s Saa,” references an old tune about revelry and woodworking.
